Description
Newspaper titled, "The Star: Indo-Canadian Fortnightly (Fiji Special)", published for the period June 1st to 15th, 1979. The newspaper's main highlight is the Fijians' Girmit Centenary Celebrations, and the attendance of D. P. Pandia, an important political figure in the campaign for the right to vote of South Asian Canadians. An article written by Dennis Patten gives a detailed account of Mr. Pandia's visit at the festival including the sequence of events and meetings that he and his party engaged in.
