Description
Event brochure for Kalpalatha Filteau, featuring Indian classical dances of Bharat Natyam and Kuchipudi performed by Kalpalatha Filteau, at Fort Richmond Collegiate Auditorium on May 17th, 1980. The event is conducted by PALI (Performing Arts and Literatures of India), as part of Project 80 which includes Odissi Dance by Menaka Thakkar, Videotape productions featuring Kalpalatha Filteau, Sarasi Raj, Menaka Thakkar and local PALI students, as well as an audio production of a modern play set in Winnipeg, "Rootless and green are the boulevard trees." The brochure includes details about the event schedule, starting with Bharat Natyam, followed by an Intermission and ending with the Kuchipudi dance. The brochure also includes a black and white picture of PALI students in traditional costume accompanied by a list of names of all students.

PALI (Performing Arts and Literatures of India) is a committee devoted to the growth and appreciation of India's arts in Winnipeg. The organization was started by Ms. Uma Parameswaran, a script writer for dance dramas and a producer of television shows.
