Description
Event brochure for "Gitagovindam", based on the theme and original script of the celebrated Sanskrit poem (12th century A.D.), performed by Menaka Thakkar, in the Odissi Style of Indian classical dance, integrated with projected images of the Kangra Paintings on the theme of the poem. The program is presented by Friends of India Society, a United Way organization serving the community. The performing artist, Menaka Thakkar, is a renowned young dancer of two classical styles of Indian dance, Bharatnatyam and Odissi. This event marks her fourth visit to Winnipeg in 25 months.
