Description
Book titled, "The Sikh Diaspora: Migration and the Experience Beyond Punjab" written by Norman Buchignani and Doreen Marie Indra. The book addresses key issues in Canadaian-Sikh Ethnic and Race Relations and their implications for the study of Sikh Diaspora. It has two main sections: 1904-20 (the early period) and 1965-87 (the present) that briefly survey Sikhs in Canada at that time, considers responses to Sikhs, outlines Sikh responses to the majority group and notes some of the implications that these ethnic and race relations have. The book ends with a concluding section that suggests prerequisites for a comparative analysis of ethnic and race relations in the Sikh diaspora.
